New Moon in Taurus 2016
New Moon in Taurus 2016 “Nights in White Satin” The Moody Blues
The New Moon in Taurus is gracing us with an abundance of earth energy including a grand trine in earth with Jupiter Virgo and Pluto Capricorn. The moon is exalted in Taurus which enhances the Taurus means to attract prosperity, luck, pleasure, with the grand trine boost for increase, generosity, gratefulness and abundance. All the earth energy is powerful for manifestation, hence the time is right to really hone in, focus and work it, max it and milk it for all its worth. With all the retrograde energies halting action and movement, the message of this New Moon in Taurus 2016 is the Venus value of attraction, receiving and allowing and reaping what you have sown.
The New Moon in Taurus is tuned into the present, in the moment with a pleasant pause. Live now for tomorrow we die where patience is not only a virtue, but a valuable practice to draw things to you. All the earth has the effect of keeping everything grounded to stay put which in turn has the ability to just be and let you relax and thus attract.
While the grand trine can give much ease and opportunity and can help cut some slack with challenges, it can also make for plenty of lazy and wasting time, getting soft and losing the edge or sharp mind and awareness, failing to take action or stepping out of your comfort zone. It can also be more of taking for granted and taking advantage, getting away with pushing limits on a path of least resistance that can get out of hand (draining resources, overspending, increasing debt, weight gain, things spreading fast such as wild fires, floods etc.) The ugly side can also prompt greed and hoarding and exploitation such as all the Big Money Corporate players influencing and buying political leveraging.
While Taurus/Venus plays nice, this can be misleading where someone mistakes someone’s pleasant nature for intent for more (nice=flirting, nice=an offer, nice means more dates…etc.). I have heard many stories of “he loves me he loves me not with…but we got along so well, or they were so nice, or they really buttered me up or it seemed like a great fit, or they told me they missed me and then just disappeared), leaving the wrong impressions or leading someone on with sweet nothings and sugar coating where words are cheap without matching actions, where it is hard to tell where one stands. All this can stem from Venus resorting to a form of rejection that spares someone’s feelings for the sake of not hurting someone’s feelings or rejecting someone directly.
Venus in Taurus is very much at home (Venus rules Taurus) where Venus is naturally auspicious, receptive, open to allowing, attracting, receiving, with enhanced beauty, calm and good feeling moods. Venus connects to the heart chakra with a goldilocks centered balanced sense-not too hot or cold, just right, tempered and even keeled. With Venus Taurus tied into the grand trine the next week, the good vibrations continue to put attention to what pleases you, and to what you want to see grow (Jupiter Virgo) with deep devotion (Pluto Capricorn), finding a sweet spot and revelling in your favorite things that you never tire of while easily getting into the zone and immersed in the flow.
The season of Taurus is lush with fresh green bursts of buds as nature explodes so it’s no surprise the connection of Taurus, green with prosperity. In Feng Shui practice, accenting the southeast corner of the home with the color green enhances money flow and finances. Other rituals with Taurus are utilizing various herbs for calming and relaxation and anything of the earth element is powerful now, crystals and stones such as green (emerald, jade) and citrine stones for attracting prosperity. Wearing copper also forms a magnetic vibration for attraction. Pleasure, scents and touch are all favored with Taurus and its fitting the call of the wild in heat and the birds and bees hot to trot, into mating season as the grand trine is driving up the meter levels with pheromones and lust, on high alert.
Just like ketchup goes well with fries, (or gravy), unhurried Taurus goes well with Mercury Mars and Saturn retrograde. The pace is slowed down, present and just being other than doing, taking time to stop and smell the flowers. All the mutable energy that has had everyone running in circles is getting some needed Taurus slow down and pay attention with the thought of driving slow over all the pot holes as much less bumpy, helping to avoid getting out of control.
Mercury retrograde in Taurus comes with bonus points as it ignites the grand trine and also makes a positive aspect with the nodal axis and Chiron, giving it a much more fortunate spin this retrograde time around and all the more reason to get some great second and third tries. Mercury Taurus retrograde is helping to turn down the noise and chatter, although unfortunately with retrogrades including Mars, the desire to push against odds, itching for some bitching, against being held back gets some piped with peddle to the meddle so be careful and keep aware. Mars and Saturn is hitting up a rough patch the next few weeks activating the Full Moon in Sagittarius, and the next New Moon in Gemini making for a bumpy ride.
