The Full Moon in Leo January 26th, known as the Wolf Moon is a relief away from the melancholy ho hum drum sigh of Capricorn gone by and time for some strange days and a break in routine and break out of our shell, to do something different and out of the ordinary. Take a trip down your own rabbit hole or get lost following your gps road map out of bounds. The energy is restless and seeks excitement looking for a little shake up and change of scenery. The Aquarius/Uranus signature making its way around with an edge that is funky weird with a kick ass pizzazz “shut the front door”. Time to turn the dial to jazz up the blues and to start shaking off the winter blues as the pitched finger in socket electrical charges of Uranus bring on anxiety and an antsy awakening to any sleeping dull energy lying dormant that needs to lighten up.
The Moon in Leo pumps up some dramatic emotional scenes-oh, woe is moi putting the Sun and warmth back to any recent cold snap. Leo (ruled by the Sun) resides over play, fun, pleasure, children, drama, performance, creativity, pride, the ego, speculation and risk. Aquarius rules over social groups and friendships. Full Moons are emotional realizations and release points. The Full Moon also aligns with Uranus and Jupiter forming a cradle pattern with much jubilant and buoyant freedom, expanding and releasing any stringent boundaries set with the Capricorn restrictions the last few weeks with more focus on honesty and ethics.
You can ask yourself, “do you feel lucky”? Jupiter is at a high tide with everything Jupiter up front and center. Jupiter rules over luck, publishing, religion, freedom, philosophy, truth, travel and growth-overdoing, exaggeration, too much of a good thing. Jupiter in Gemini-communications, arms, hands, lungs, short trips, siblings, neighbors, writing, learning, accidents. Jupiter is sitting at its turn around time as it will move direct January 30th. In this stationary period, its at its most potent. Jupiter strains Venus now as well putting more pressure to this lunar cycle.
The Full Moon creates a testy tsquare with grumbly Saturn so the blues are still humming along although the tsquare will put up a good fight. The strain to Saturn brings up the call to action and making strides. Aquarius and Leo and Scorpio are fixed energies and Saturn is a test and squares are action oriented so expect some wires to be crossed. This brings up the Full Moon to a crisis laden period-changes in status and relationships. Mercury tightly squares Saturn which shows up as communication breakdowns and traffic jams. The polarization makes it a time where boundaries will be tested with new rules going against the grain.
Mercury is exalted in Aquarius, the upside is Saturn streamlines communications where we can tap into our higher mind and get some reprogramming reset, cut out all the mind chatter from anything weighing heavy on your mind and the habitual patterns of the hamster wheel twirl of the mind –KISS (keep it simple stupid). Uranus brings out the odd and unusual out of the box unorthodox, albeit shocking. Uranus helps clear the cob webs and focuses on the future while the past of cluttered overloaded circuits get a reboot.
The cradle and tsquare together form a rare diamond formation we saw similar in July 2012- a configuration that touches on many points, activating many different patterns-a complex turnout that needs integration. The cradle is a sanctuary and place of security so with any threat to security such as seen with the tsquare with a reactive Full Moon, you can see the overflow. We had a similar pattern with the Colorado shooting grave tragedy, then with Pluto at the apex, this Full Moon with Saturn at the apex. Saturn represents frustration and limits as well as coldness with the brutal winter weather presently as well as over the top, extreme and sudden (Uranus Jupiter). The Sun represents the heart and the Moon Leo, ruled by the Sun in hard aspect to Saturn (blockages)-heart ailments.
The Sun is active again where it’s been out of the loop the last few weeks now lit up and firing on all cylinders. Mars also makes a semisquare to Pluto and strain the nodal axis which may be some dynamite unhinged full throttle and vital with fire, anger, impatience, burns, heat, inflammation. The Sun, Mercury and Mars in Aquarius, ruled by Uranus adds a cerebral, detached, removed emotional distance “So What” aka Miles Davis or as my Aquarius father likes to say, “Big Deal” usually the party pooper pouring the rain and putting a damper on the Moon Leo’s Sunny melodrama and pomp parade although is probably singing “Ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone”.
Lance Armstrong admitting to doping happened during the critical Aries Quarter Moon January 18th. Neptune square Lances’s Jupiter, Neptune was first in effect when Lance was suspected and now with Chiron Pisces square Jupiter Gemini stationing activating Lance’s Saturn at 6 degrees Gemini, the consequences (reaping what he sowed) are coming home to roost. We have revealing truths (Jupiter) and communication (Gemini) about some deception and fraud (Neptune Pisces). Truth be told with Jupiter ruled (Sagittarius rising), Oprah’s rising sign who got him to spill the beans.
With Jupiter in its detriment in Gemini, we continue to see dubious expression lacking tact and taste. Lance said his intention was to “level the playing field” and get real for his children. The game, playing, performing, children is a Leo domain. The compelling need to come clean because of his own children shows with his Leo in his chart on his South Node (the fall back point in the chart, a weak link in the chain and known as the Achilles heel). Some type of absolving comes through a mercy to let the lesser of two evils shine and let his ego take the back seat (Leo). The ego proved to be his undoing on his Leo south node.
Lance fooled and managed to pull the wool over many eyes with his lies. He has a current Mars return in Aquarius, Mars representing sport/competition. Mars is over his nodal axis showing his life work/goal to be connected to sport and competition. Mars in Aquarius is detached and removed although ethically still takes on the tone of Saturn integrity where he chooses to fess up to the mess he created. His Mars is in a grand trine with Uranus Libra and Saturn Gemini which demonstrated his ease to success.
Transit Saturn is straining this Mars/nodal axis showing him paying the price and living with the consequences. He is facing embracing his shadow, his dark side-the polarity coming up from his natal Saturn oppose Neptune Jupiter being redeemed by transit Neptune pointing out we are all flawed to some degree-“let he who is without sin cast the first stone”. “Judge not lest ye be judged”. Jupiter rules over judgement. Uranus plays the devil’s advocate and despite the lies, it took great courage (Mars) and humility to admit in front of millions if not billions of viewers.
We don’t have Lance’s time of birth which further makes it hard to predict however his Neptune Jupiter with Neptune currently squaring makes you see Neptune doing its work. Neptune is associated with deception and drugs. He has a loose kite pattern around his Neptune with Jupiter just accentuating at the apex joining up most of his energy. It is very concentrated especially with his Sun Venus Pluto conjunction which sextiles his Neptune Jupiter. This shows much luck with slipping through the cracks, getting away with deception and much power at his disposal which was easy for him to abuse and take for granted. The Sun Pluto is compelled to hold onto power at any cost. The Neptune square transit to this energy forced the revelation to reveal the truth ironically to set him free-Jupiter.
Oprah set the stage being an Aquarius which gives her the gift to reach out and touch the masses. Aquarius is a social sign and rules over groups and humanitarianism. Her chart is in the spotlight with her new direction and Oprah’s new prime time series, Next Chapter. She is experiencing her Saturn return in Scorpio in the 10th house (career, public), a significant turn for her career. The Full Moon falls over her Aquarius Sun Venus (Venus rules her career) and the New Moon in January over her 1st house Capricorn nodal axis. The transiting Scorpio nodal axis is over her Mars.
These are prominent angular points to self and authority and taking a stand and action. Oprah has a powerful air grand trine (communications, broadcasting) focusing on her 10th house Neptune Libra Mercury Aquarius Jupiter Gemini which she utilized to her reaching out to a collective audience in all lots in life-rich, poor, no boundaries. Her Aquarius Sun gives her the detached, open minded approach. She has transit Jupiter in Gemini, a Jupiter return activating her grand trine with Jupiter, Jupiter is her chart ruler, a prime time for her to expand her reach and message.
Golden Globe highlights. Jodie Foster was special to watch as I always have a place for her growing up with appreciating her roles outside of the box, true to Uranus form. Jodie is a Scorpio and turning 50, going through her Chiron return. The Chiron return is a major turning point, a year of facing our deepest wounds and finding a sense of surrender to what ails us. Jodie has a very dynamic chart with a Scorpio stellium that strains her Mars Leo showing the passion and verve and her quirky unusual side with Uranus over Pluto Moon. Her movies always unique yet emotionally riveting and deeply moving that has no label. Her Scorpio Sun sits just over the 12th house , house of secrets. Jody has always maintained strong privacy. Scorpio is naturally private and likes to keep an air of mystery.
Transit Saturn over Jody’s Scorpio stellium is bringing home a strong status change with which she emphasized. Saturn square Saturn and Mars shows this up ever more and she demonstrated the stress with her presentation-seems much is up for her as her chart ruler Jupiter, in Pisces, is also being pinged by transit Chiron Neptune and transit Jupiter square her Jupiter. Chiron is over her Jupiter and oppose her Moon Pluto Virgo where she expressed deep emotional sincerity. Chiron is bringing up some deep sensitive wounds around her maternal bond and the subsequent healing.
Hilary Clinton has quite a bit of attention with her Mercury ASC Scorpio Leo Saturn under attack from the recent Solar Eclipse showing her head injury. ASC (Ascendant) is directly related to the head. Her Mercury squares Saturn in Leo at 21 degrees Leo. Mercury rules her career and Saturn rules career naturally. It’s is no surprise the spotlight on her career with the frustrations and challenges, questions about her career going forward, particularly with her involvement in the Benghazi. Saturn is scrutiny and accountability, a time of taking responsibility and paying your dues.
Hilary was interviewed recently making it clear she was retiring due to exhaustion which is shown by her sheer endurance with this aspect she demonstrated in her political life and the stress to it by transit Saturn. Transit Chiron sits over her IC oppose her career cusp showing her time to heal in the comforts of home, private away from the public spotlight. Eclipses will begin to focus on her 12th house of retreat and over her Sun later this year. Time for time out.
All eyes are on Obama and his inauguration. Transit Mars is over Obama’s ASC, a take action time for his leadership focusing on Aquarius themes of social issues and equality. With reference to gun control, Obama’s uses his Executive action and order with single minded purpose. The Leo Moon focuses on children who Obama aims to protect in the future with gun control. Obama’s Venus Cancer in his 5th house of children shows his protective and special attention to children.
Dear Abby passed on January 16th. She had her Venus in Gemini at 6 degrees impacted by the stationing transit Jupiter Gemini. Her Gemini Venus showed her writing career which blossomed. Her Venus was in a talent triangle with Neptune and Mars showing her popularity with her no nonsense common sense advice. Her Venus Gemini shows her strong tie to her sister who competed with her with a twin column-Gemini reflects siblings. Her Mercury Cancer was impacted by the recent New Moon in Capricorn-she battled Alzheimer’s disease -Mercury.
