Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius June 2012
The Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius on June 4 is followed by a Sun Venus occultation where the Sun combusts Venus June 5 at 16 degrees Gemini – this is a rare event-the last before 2004 was 1882 and the next won’t be til 2117. If you look up at the sky around 6:30 PM June 5, you will see a black dot on the Sun-that would be Venus. This occurs when Venus retrograde combusts the Sun creating an occultation bringing out more solar flare and wind activity.
The Sun combusts Venus every year-the rarity is the combust with Venus in retrograde. The last similar occurrence was in June 2004 where Venus was retrograde occult the Sun, where you might see recurring themes with that time frame although 2004 wasn’t during eclipse time as we have now. The added emphasis of this partial Lunar Eclipse makes this a spectacular shift of times in our evolution.
The feminine guile of Venus Gemini joins up with the masculine virility of the Sun and sharp energetic attention of Mars Virgo creating a sparkling zest. Gemini rules over our thoughts and mind and information which is emphasized during Gemini eclipses-we are learning at this juncture how significant our thoughts are and how powerful manifestation is through our mind. More and more are receiving messages (Gemini) with the sign posts along the way and those in the zone, paying attention to the synchronicity will know they are on the right path.
The Lunar Eclipse and the Sagittarius Moon hedging over the nodal axis in Sagittarius is pushing the need and desire to reach beyond and explore. Gemini is the messenger between mortals and gods and Sagittarius the seeker. Venus retrograde is hitting the “wait just a minute” button as Venus hits the lunar eclipse intersection. Self worth and a feeling of worthiness-expecting to be given value will become very heightened. This will be time for making lots of whoopee-those with positive aspects to the eclipse (those with mid sign Aquarius, Aries, Leo, Libra aspects will have a ball with this energy – those with mid Gemini, Virgo, Pisces, Sagittarius aspects will be feeling this particularly where changes will be evident)-sexual tensions are rising that if not diverted and channeled can lead to aggression.
Venus in stress and her dark side comes out-jealousy, possessiveness or over pleasing and over accommodating to the point of all the proclivities of Venus Gemini and all the flirting will be in full force with duplicity, love games, competitive, desperate, shameless in your face “call me…call me any any time”. All the flirting sexual tension flying around will certainly stir up some scraps. Agonies of love rejection, cat fights, broken hearts or on the bright side passions rising with love drama, lots of singing; Venus rules over the voice. Just as the previous south node Solar Eclipse had us dredge up the past, the focus on the north node of this Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius forces us to leap into the future and let the past go and move toward new horizons. The mind runs everything – and everything starts in the mind. The Sun Venus Gemini influence exemplifies quieting the mind-being in tune with it – meditation on a mass scale that could literally calm the spirit of all rages that brew and fester which seem to be catalysts for storms and winds in nature (Gemini an air sign) whether our own personal storms or those that explode collectively.
The potential of this eclipse is enormous-hard aspects produce forced change-getting out of your comfort zone into the undiscovered parts of your nature. You can either accept the shifts as they need to be or you can fight against them. Full Moons and Lunar Eclipses always bring out the lunacy and the madness – the wildness and the moods at the brink gone amok. The dark is illuminated and brought to light. Gemini is often equated with the evil twins- Jekyll and Hyde-the dark and the light, good and bad, male and female. I proceeded to enjoy some devil’s food cake and received a bill for 666, I walked through a storm with the sun over top me and rain a block away and was then graced with a spectacular rainbow with a view of a cloud that shaped a heart for me. I came home and laid out a Tarot reading and the Devil card came up-the Devil card equals the number 6. The Lovers in the Tarot also equals 6-Venus. The Devil is the dark side of Venus.

These are all attributes of Venus. The devil that made you do it is Venus. Venus is the Devil in disguise. Many are slaves to and blinded by their own demons and our desires. Instincts are built in for survival-we are still earth bound creatures. We can’t deny these forces but we can be aware of them and make a choice as to how we participate and use them. I have always been perplexed with the number 6 association with the devil which has gotten such a bad rap. The number 6 is the number of balance. The spectrum with the richness of all colors. When we are completely aware and accept all sides, we are in full view of any potential from where we can make the best choice from total illumination.
