New Moon in Pisces 2012
This New Moon in Pisces February 21st is a debut of the Pisces energy as Neptune just moved into Pisces to join Chiron in Pisces. Being a very strong Pisces New Moon with Sun Moon Mercury Neptune Chiron all in Pisces could bring up a time of powerful emotional triggers that get lost in translation with oversensitive reactions and distorted interpretations and possible healing expression and opportunity. Mercury is oppose Mars for a couple of days where communications will be very active with possible anger and emotional outbursts running on critical, nagging issues (Mars Virgo retro) may upset the apple cart creating nervous tension. Confusing communication snags and slowing processes as Mercury opposes Mars in retrograde. Pisces tends to be elusive and implode and hold in frustration and annoyance.
This New Moon is fortunate as it harmonizes with Jupiter which will give some grace and amplify any compassion with any growing tensions. This Moon forms a slight Moon Wobble as it squares the nodal axis making it a cross current where shifts in status and direction will be of notice. With Mars in Virgo-muddling through the mist with clarity will help pull us out of any obscurity and dazed confusion. Venus is semisquare the New Moon where anything related to relationships or things we value (money, possessions) will be tense the next few days-Venus is connected to my 3rd house so communications and my computer are giving me some stress.
Venus is building to inconjunct with Mars showing a brief reprieve of adjustments, sorting and compromises in relationships, money matters – many will be thinking of topping off their RRSP’s/401K or if they can at all as the deadline looms for the end of the month as Venus builds to oppose Saturn which might just mean there won‘t be much left over to put any away. Mars will also semi square Saturn which will add some pinch and aggravation-mine came with my broker being miffed that I wanted to just park my money for now and not enter into anything aggressive as I am waiting to see what the markets are going to do the next few months with a possible correction-Mars retro is transiting my 8th house of shared funds (mutual), taxes)-where I lost 40% the last few years not realizing he had me in such aggressive funds!
Pisces is mutable represented by the two fish going in either direction. Mutable energy moves in all directions, scattered and spread thin. Cast your die and see where the chips fall. Throw caution to the wind and believe in the unbelievable. Wear your best pair of rose colored glasses to shield you from the ugly realities that Neptune veils and lets you see the prettiest pink haze of the possibilities. Better that you are swinging on a star or wishing on a lucky star-that’s the Neptune faith of making wishes, having dreams and letting our imagination run wild. As every New Moon is a time to focus on your wishes for the next month, in Pisces style-focusing on your dreams, letting your imagination soar and meditating and visualizing on your goals and mission should bring magical results. When they say be careful what you wish for, this is the time. Whatever message or energy you send out will be well received.
With the New Moon in Pisces we merge with the collective whole. We find the magic in submerging and infusing with us being mere droplets in a vast ocean. Pisces is the water element and is in tune to the subtle undercurrents where one will retreat rather than confront being highly sensitive and a sponge of every morsel of energy floating to a point of not knowing what’s yours or mine. You may find you are retaining more water than usual at this time especially if you are hyper tuned to Neptune and Pisces. Pisces can get lost in the stream of consciousness as Pisces represents the unconscious, the places of hidden undiscovered crevices. Neptune naturally rules hibernation, rest, secrets, sleep, dreams, isolation and solitude. We may feel the need to pull inward to focus on the internal and gather our thoughts. Its a great Moon to meditate and have quiet reflection and to tune into the messages of our dreams.
Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac. Pisces represents the last lesson-the crown chakra-the open expansive reach beyond what is known and mundane. Pisces is the idealism and grasp of the not yet attainable but always what we reach for beyond what’s seen. Neptune rules blindness and seeing without our eyes, but seeing with feeling-seeing in the dark. I am experiencing continuous dreams of driving my car in the dark without lights-an interesting message of how Neptune is manifesting in my life. Intuition and the right brain may be the key of unlocking the next layers of the brain unexplored. We know most only use a 10th of our brain capacity-the awakening to the other 9/10’s is the role of Pisces-the capacity and reach is available and the means to unfold and or unravel is another.
Do we instigate with substance as Neptune in its slippery ways can too often fall into the slide of the path of least resistance whether that’s a liquid soother of alcohol (easy access for a Neptune water based internal drive), hallucination drug inducing altered states of consciousness, nasty deceptive secretive hidden agenda of a pathological liar convinced that what they spin or stretch is truth, confused and distorted from their own misaligned mindset. On the dark side Pisces Neptune loses all touch with reality and boundaries-common sense with practical material requirements go down the drain.
Neptune, ruler of Pisces can lose touch with the ground, lifting off into infinite space or wanting to escape to the ethers, hiding behind the scenes with passive aggressive tendencies-anger turned inward and targeting your frustrations as a sniper, using your own voodoo weapons or just becoming your own worst enemy with suicide the ultimate self destruction. As Mars retrogrades further back toward its direct station it will oppose the Sun early March just before the Full Moon and will oppose Neptune Pisces at the degree point of this New Moon in mid April where these hidden smoldering angers might emerge full force where confrontation will be a necessary evil.
This New Moon in Pisces surrounds recent news about Whitney Houston who succumbed to her drug afflictions-she was found drowned in her bathtub. She had many very tense aspects in her natal chart to Neptune (drowning, addictions). Being a Pisces rising (ASC), her chart ruler Neptune is in her 8th house (death) showing that her demise would be associated with Neptune themes. Her 8th house was very sensitized with transit Saturn and Solar ARC Pluto Mercury.
No doubt the darkness she became lost in overwhelmed her into escape. She has a tsquare of Sun, Venus, Neptune and Saturn that was activated by the last Full Moon and Lilith Jupiter stressing it in the last year which would show much of the current strain. This tsquare is very complicated and difficult needing sensitive attention as the energies of Neptune and Saturn playing on personal planets such as Sun Venus give a very challenging view and perception of life-the disappointments weighing very heavily. Jupiter shows excess and growth – to a difficult angle such as this it would only escalate any already stressful energies in place. Many equate Jupiter with abundance and luck however Jupiter is often the culprit in expanding and pushing any boundaries often over the edge .
Another Pisces icon, Kurt Cobain, leading Nirvana, birthday February 20 and his life of Pisces dissolution ending in suicide. Kurt had a potent configuration of suffering. Kurt was born in the mid 60’s during an anguished time with Saturn oppose Pluto Uranus. This signature was pointedly critical in his chart with it over his ASC/DESC axis. He suffered profoundly with Pluto Uranus over his ASC oppose his Pisces Sun Venus Saturn stellium all creating a kite that made it easy for him to escape into oblivion-to surrender to the void of drugs and alcohol. Pluto Uranus over the ASC-the ASC connects to the physical body. To a Pisces, reality and the mundane or following the norm were too much for him-disappointing. His torment in his music touched and reached a massive audience as his anguished message came from the depths of his soul.
Adding the Pisces element, his Sun was square Neptune, further showing his wishing to merge with the universal. He suffered with chronic stomach problems that apparently were relieved by his heroin use-Uranus rules his health and in Virgo over his ASC/conjoin Pluto shows the chronic issues with his stomach. His suicide came at a time with transit Uranus and Neptune in Capricorn-a collective angst, apathy, displacement and dissolution fitting in the mid 1990’s for the grunge movement in the music scene in full swing that Nirvana personified perfectly. Both Neptune and Uranus were oppose his Moon which would have shown great despair and rebellion emotionally and also the issues with his stomach (Moon)
