New Black Moon in Aquarius

New Black Moon Aquarius  “The Air that I Breathe”  The Hollies

The New Black Moon in Aquarius is an unusual second New Moon in Aquarius  and is  a very interesting phenomena.  The only way this can happen is if the New Moon falls at the very beginning of a sign and the very last degree of the sign due to the cycle of the moon being 28 days. The last few lunar cycles had the New Moon on the first degree of the sign and now it is slowly shifting to have the New Moon at the last degree.  Even more compelling, the New Moon is just one minute before the shift into the next sign which really has it dancing on a precipice.

The paradox of the New Moon on the last degree is a New Moon indicates a new beginning yet the New Moon is on the last legs of a sign, in its darkest hour.  The last degree of a sign is much like the Moon Void of Course.  The Moon void of course is when the Moon reaches a pass point with no more influence not making any further aspect before it leaves a sign or changes into a new sign.  At this time, it is not a good time to chart a new course or begin anything as the Moon has reached an impasse and has no more recourse.  There is no more to be had or done and becomes a fait accompli at this critical degree.  All efforts are relinquished and resolute at a point of no return.

The New Moon on a 2nd take, is an opportunity for a second chance or run, whether getting seconds or double trouble. The New Moon in Aquarius times two coincides with the Mercury retrograde cycle just moving out of its station moving forward. Anything that may have gone sideways or backwards the last few weeks may now get another dose and take 2  on whatever needed a second hit, reminder or jolt to get your attention that wasn’t quite understood or heard  the first time.  The Black Moon has much power to cast out any painful residue and instill a new purpose.  The ritual at this time should include mental clearing using any type of breathing exercise preferably in an open air space.

The New Moon coincides with the Chinese New Year, 2015 the Year of the Sheep. The sheep in Chinese Astrology is gentle, calm and not one to stand out in the crowd but to blend in, which tends to tone down the radical nature of Aquarius, into live and let live, keeping a low profile.

The Sun is in its detriment in Aquarius.  Detriment is not necessarily negative.  It just indicates a sign or planet is functioning in its least natural state.  The Sun rules Leo where it naturally shines and the Sun in Aquarius is the opposite poll of Leo.  Sun Aquarius thus has less of the solar vitality, natural radiance with  a weaker disposition and an inclination to depression and withdrawal.  Aquarius is an air sign ruling the mind.  While the mind remains a strong feature, the physical constitution is less robust and so health issues may be more prominent.

The end point of this New Moon on the last degree may also trigger endings in anything related to Aquarius such as friendships, a new invention, some form of technology and sudden bizarre freak accidents.   Aquarius health issues may show with the ankles, circulation, vascular system and just an overall sense of low vitality.  Mental focus will border on emotional detachment, withdrawal, separation and distance. Due to the New Moon being in its most darkest phase, blindness, deception, weakness, addiction and hopelessness can become problematic.

With two New Moons in Aquarius and with Mercury in Aquarius retrograde the last month we have to wonder what the message is and what we need to get, learn or graduate from.   The universe doesn’t orchestrate these circular spins just to see us twirl or get a kick out of seeing us dizzy up from spinning into a frenzy. Opportunities are presented to take another shot at getting it right and learn a better way or a more effective solution. Aquarius is an air sign and air signs are strategists, thinkers and brainstormers of ideas.  Aquarius thinks outside the box, with wake up, shake up, snap out of it remedies for any clouded view, warped perspective, zapped with some electric, exciting stimulation.

Aquarius resides over technology, new original invention and thought form. Uranus ruling Aquarius was discovered at the start of the Industrial Revolution. Technology is growing in exponential leaps and bounds but at what cost? How much do we really need with all this new technology taking us away from the human condition with sterile, robotic, emotionless machines that lack human touch, sensitivity, warmth and real connection, defeating the premise and purpose of technology to provide efficiency and to simply.  Are we really evolving or are we ready again to sink to the depths as Atlantis did, getting sucked into some virtual black sink hole of rapid advancement while big brother watches every move with the persistent threat seeping into your most private world, hacking at identity, with 50 shades of facebook  fishing for fanfare, flashing frolic and flicks,  texting, tweety tweeting, twerking, twerping to twenty twons of tweeple like a twat while feeling like a twit .

The double take of this New Moon also shows up as a double edge sword.  Swords in the tarot rule over thinking and air.  The New Moon builds to a hard aspect to Saturn Sagittarius while Venus and Mars make a positive spin to Saturn.  The Sun and Moon lights join forces as do Venus and Mars.  The struggle of Sun Moon strain Saturn gets a boost of  energy and sublime sweet surrender from Venus Mars Pisces in harmony to Saturn. Both the Sun Moon and Venus Mars are ready to change signs, in transition where something is releasing and letting go ready for something new to emerge. Put Feb 20th on the calendar for a special occasion as the Moon will join Venus Mars adding a romantic respite and sight for sore eyes, just prior to sunset.

The harshness of Sun Moon square Saturn is the case of if you can dish it out you better be able to take it and get a grip.  It is a strict, tough slog, pay your dues, reap what you sow, weighed down, held back and stuck with clipped wings bringing home to roost  you can’t soar like an eagle when you hang out with a bunch of turkeys.  The Saturn  task master waves the authoritarian finger at you, shaming you with I told you so, as you walk away with tail between the legs. All this as Saturn Sagittarius also inches closer to strain Neptune Pisces, into a world weary exhaustion, with imminent failure scratching at the door.
The darkness to this New Moon degree point is especially sensitive and ominous as it creates a semisquare with Uranus Pluto with the New Moon on the midpoint between transit Uranus Pluto.  Pluto rules over taxes, investments, power and death as the current Uranus Pluto transit continues to uncover corruption and abuse of power (more news of tax evasion with the swiss banks) disturbing controversial media (50 shades of Grey) as well as recent change in legislation around legalizing assisted suicide ruling “death with dignity” enforcing further the Aquarius ideals of freedom and liberation to make your own rules to live and die by.  The tension of Uranus Pluto is  mounting in a slew of train wrecks (aggression, impatience, rage, radical and bold decisions)  as they edge closer together to form their last exact hit during the next few months into the Lunar Eclipse April 4th 2015.

Jimmy Hoffa Feb 14.  I picked Jimmy’s chart to study as it depicts the Sun Aquarius square Saturn energy of this New Moon. Jimmy had a very strong chart for leadership and bravery with his Sun over his ASC.  He was well suited to fight for the rights of impoverished others (union activist). His Sun trine Pluto gave him the innate power along with his Sun square Saturn giving the Type A hard driving, self motivation and a strict moral code (didn’t drink, smoke or womanize).  He rose to power during the last Uranus Pluto square in 1933. His disappearance shows with transit Pluto Uranus in his 8th house, Neptune over his 10th house, accenting the mystery.  His natal Mars Uranus in his 12th house emphases the hidden, obscure unknown circumstances of never  recovering his body or remains.
