The Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn July 16th 2019 is in the midst of the cycles of Cancer Capricorn eclipses that started in 2018 and will complete in 2020. This Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn (ruled by Saturn) join Saturn and Pluto over the south node, makes it an intense trigger point that will color, influence and shape a potent outcome. Saturn rules over success, reaching the top of the mountain, achievement, accolades but also limits, discipline and boundaries. Capricorn is a cardinal earth energy, working with structure, accountability and responsibility. It’s no wonder that Saturn is surrounded by rings as natural boundaries, skirting and keeping from straying from a straight and narrow path.
With the Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn join Saturn Pluto south node, we are seeing more of the traits of responsibility and accountability take a nose dive, taking the low road, lack of integrity, responsibility slipping through the cracks of injustice. Striving, controlling, driving motivation is also in over drive, giving way to the powers that be (seeing currently with the political climate, climate change, greed, corruption). The south node influence is also an opportunity to let go of this heavy load releasing eons of trauma, wounding ingrained deeply in our collective psyche.
The Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn follows the Solar Eclipse in Cancer and brings up the polarity (Cancer Sun oppose Capricorn Moon) between maternal dependency, getting needs met, (or neediness), being taken care of (Cancer) to paternal, father figure, adulthood, maturity (Capricorn). Energies are at a halt and a stand still with Mercury and most of the outer planets retrograde, honing in to accentuate the effects. Saturn tends to slow things down, forcing a time out and hiatus. Saturn deals with old age and Pluto death, showing up as a time many may be thinking of end of life plans, inheritance, legacies, wills, power of attorney, and how they want to be celebrated (cremation burials).
Capricorn practical wisdom and maturity helps us face inevitable realities of old age and being closer to death, loss of innocence, youth, outer beauty. With the predominance of Saturn Capricorn energies, especially Saturn Pluto south node, with the Moon, in its detriment in Capricorn, we are hard pressed to not be pulled into serious, heavy, depressing, worn out, darker energy patterns and all those darker harsher realities of Saturn and Capricorn ( limits, denials, delays, rejections, restrictions, facing the fact that ultimately you are alone no matter who you are with (you start alone and you die alone) which can all morph into control, fear, OCDs, PTSD.

It makes sense its connection to obsession, depression, darkness, trauma, where breakdown shakedown unravels and loosens grips only to be redeemed and renewed once again. Capricorn is the sign of hard work, suffering, struggles, which rewards through its trials.
