The Lunar Eclipse in Gemini at 6 degrees -themes of duality, divisiveness and mixed messages with a feeling of neither here nor there. The eclipse forms a locomotive pattern shaped like a bowl where the aspects are concentrated in a complex container with many configurations with a fairly balanced distribution of all the elements earth, air, water and fire all vying for center stage or attention, intermingling and fusing, with many cross intersections. Because this is a partial Lunar Eclipse – the potency is less significant and not as long lasting as a total eclipse.
We turn from the intense fervor of the Scorpio Solar Eclipse November 13 2012 to the light hearted, optimistic, joyful skip through Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter. The Sun in Sagittarius oppose the Moon in Gemini brings up the yearly mutable force of expression, expansion and growth with an eye on the future – Lunar Eclipse in Gemini December 2011. Gemini rules over communications, short trips, multitasking, siblings, neighbors -with Mercury, ruler of Gemini and ruler of this eclipse, just turned direct-communications and short trips and travel-potential accidents become more prevalent.

This Lunar Eclipse squares Chiron in Pisces welling up deep wounding and repercussions, struggles, battle scars we have to endure. Some things that may have been instigated from the Solar Eclipse in Scorpio, November 13th tear up dredging old scar tissue that rises up again. Chiron is the cross point in this eclipse-forced to face up to some painful truth (Sagittarius) and find compassion and peace (Chiron Pisces) as those calling a truce to war and putting their lives back together after Gaza and Hurricane Sandy.
Mars (war) was sitting on a precipice as it moved into Capricorn November 17th along with the Sun Mercury join the nodal eclipse degree oppose Algol -a highly combustible mix shown clearly with the crisis in GAZA and Israel. Pluto (rage) and explosiveness (Uranus) as I suspected as a follow up to the Solar Eclipse in the Scorpio. Mars rules over inflammation and irritation – Mars squared Uranus November 23rd.
As Uranus in Aries is the harbinger of change itching for some unusual excitement-here in a reckless square to Mars with pent up rage ready to erupt – with fires and explosions. Black Friday, this November 24th first day of holiday shopping during the US Thanksgiving weekend. Lots of stampeding and stomping feet with a mad frenzy looking for the big deal tempered and saved by the bell with a benign trine to the Sun in Sagittarius.
Mars is exalted in Capricorn giving Mars in this position an ethical, responsible, collected concrete call to action. Mars in Capricorn channels energy constructively and practically-earth bound with even tempered aims and staying power. Mars in Saturn ruled Capricorn is ambitious and determined with self control and discipline. Mars on Pluto during the eclipse sets up the scene for rage to surge however a line up of energy from Venus and Saturn helps to ease and curtail the tension.
Venus joins Saturn in Scorpio and sextile Mars and Pluto in Capricorn. This sets up all the systematic exchange of energy that falls into place effortlessly. The energies of Venus Scorpio (ruled by Pluto) sextile Mars Pluto make this a very steamy, sizzling tango dance. A perfect date tempo with intense passionate undertones of mystery, obsession and compulsive desire although the harmonious sextile adds a smooth tone and softens the volatility of Mars Pluto bringing a slow simmer to the edge giving this energy a sweet sultry delicious flavor with powerful sensual eroticism. The release of the movie Skyfall with Adele`s haunting voice is timely.
Venus in Scorpio draws deep lasting bonds that can be formed at this time. Venus Scorpio pulls desire, intimacy and very up close and personal connections although Venus Scorpio continually invokes a web of mystery and intrigue-seductive with suspense and ever revealing another layer, privacy always a preference. Venus join Saturn in Scorpio further casts a serious tone to love and relationships. Venus Saturn -Venus ruling over negotiations aiding peaceful resolutions on love not war.
Venus Scorpio, not for frivolous meaningless encounters but more of the soul tugging ties that bind with a profound grip and epic loyalty with sometimes tragic consequence-think Cathy and Heathcliff/Wuthering Heights. No messing around with a Pluto ruled Venus Scorpio as love hate burns – hell hath no fury as a Venus Scorpio scorned especially with the YOD patterns of Gemini Moon Lilith Jupiter forming. Expect some fallout with jealousy and wrath from some flippant double talk or two timing duplicity.
God is giving us the finger again. YODs, or sometimes termed the Finger of God, are a focal point of this eclipse. The eclipse forms into 2 fairly stressful YOD patterns with Sun Moon Jupiter Lilith Gemini Mars Pluto Capricorn and Venus Saturn Scorpio Uranus Aries-essentially the two YOD patterns emphasize a certain splitting factor already polarized in Full Moon charts with the Sun Moon in opposition. The YOD also contains all the planets associated with love, relationships, sex, passion and conflict which will bear on any love, seduction and sexual magnetism with subtle forms of control and domination and possible explosive exchange.
YODS are points of adjustment due to energy that doesn’t flow with ease, leaving a compromise where something has to give or be let go of – a point of sacrifice and conflict of interest where you can only have one without the other. The YOD is based on 150 degrees which is a health and work aspect connecting to the 6th house of health and work. Health issues could arise difficult to deter or treat left with many uncomfortable adjustments. Work stories bringing up issues to do with service and exploitation–adjustments with labor unions and working arrangements.
The Lunar Eclipse with the Moon in Gemini over Lilith Jupiter, gives a momentus urgency of emotional spilling your guts – boiling over with an incessant desire to speak (Gemini) some truth -whistle blowing (Jupiter) making this a time of forthright candid moments-perhaps jumping to conclusions before getting the facts. The emotions are generous (Jupiter) and benevolent- a time for expression of joy, gratitude and trust.
The eclipse highlights Lilith in Gemini drawing out the darker elements of Gemini-ugly gossip, slander, backstabbing, defamatory communications (growing on social channels) and words that sting and destroy saying something stupid as in the election blunders (especially the meme with women’s rights tagged expressly with “binders full of women”) foot inserted in the mouth and as seen with the repercussions of the recent bullying suicide of Amanda Todd revoicing that sticks and stones may break your bones where names will and do hurt . On the other side of the coin, Lilith in Gemini over Jupiter Moon brings up a strong emotional need (Moon) to speak (Gemini)some kind of justice –more stories of public shaming to force the moral compass of doing the right thing. Lilith fights tooth and nail to get to crux of matters.
Mercury Scorpio moved direct on November 26th and is sitting at 18 degrees stationary during the eclipse – stationary periods are important turning points. Mercury started at this shadow phase degree point October 18th which may show a release and trigger forward from that date. Mercury sits rather isolated (peregrine-no major aspects ) left out of the loop outside of all the aspects aside leaving it open as a wild card.
As quoted by Noel Tyl-an unaspected or a “peregrine planet can run away with the horoscope”. With overcompensation and a Mercury Scorpio communication hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil taking a front or back seat-either hard to find the words or at a loss for words or words into overkill with a pressing message-a way with having your way with words-so to speak.
Hurricane Sandy – those who suffered through Hurricane Sandy-many with their homes destroyed, are still in recovery, picking up the broken pieces of their lives. I see a flood in growth (Jupiter) in flood (Neptune-Pisces) insurance (Scorpio). The chart of NY shows a vulnerable aspect under siege-with Hurricane Sandy, transit Mars oppose Jupiter was impacting NY natal Pluto/Lilith in Gemini. This same spot was hit during 911 by transit Pluto oppose Saturn. Further, in 1993 with the first bomb attack on the WTC, a Lunar Eclipse fell on NY natal Pluto/Lilith.
On a lighter fluffy note of Lunar Eclipse endings -its a terminal case for Twinkies, gone alongside with the ding dong of snack foods –the end to unhealthy empty calories and expanding waistlines (Jupiter-Sagittarius).
