Lunar Eclipse in Libra April 2014

Lunar Eclipse in Libra April 2014 “Moon River”

The total Lunar eclipse in Libra is emphasized by the Libra Moon, Libra nodal axis and Mars in Libra. Libra principles take front and center attention with the polarity of Aries and Libra drawing out Aries looking out for number one as opposed to Libra compromise, tolerance and fairness.  Aries independence, autonomy and self interest is tested by Libra give and take cooperation, harmony and finding an equilibrium.  The appeal with this eclipse in Libra, ruled by Venus, feeds the law of attraction working on the premise of receptivity, reflection gaining a magnetic force.

Eclipses on the north node tend to instigate forward future oriented endeavors, pushing one to further evolve, saying goodbye to the past and opening a door to the future, thinking of tomorrow and letting go of yesterday casting a shadow on any outgrown and limiting habits, beliefs and self defeating ways of being.  North node energy is typically uncharted territory where one looks toward new horizons and experiences.   The energy is fresh and vitalizing leaving one open to discover and grow.  The last eclipse season with Libra was in 1995 and 1996 where it can show similar patterns and experiences.

The tide is high and the Moon in Libra languishes from all the tension erring on the side of caution and pleasant circumstances, sidestepping any confrontation.  Setting off the cardinal cross and creeping on the shadow, the Lunar Eclipse will glow a coppery red.  The lunar eclipse cycles in the next year, given the name lunar tedrad consisting of 4 blood moons, is a rare series of 4 total eclipses in the next year, in 2014 April 15th, October 8th, and in 2015, April 4th and September 28th

Religious beliefs have a theory and prophecy that this rare series of blood moons has an ominous tone. While the doom portending may seem farfetched, major shifts, crisis and changes will be seen as this rare series holds some meaning and significance due to all these eclipses being charged and intensified by the tense cardinal cross and Uranus Pluto aspect. With Aries as part of the eclipses, over the south node ruled by Mars, and hence the color red and blood, the path of least resistance associated with adventure, direct action and anger with the ugly side of Aries  impatience, aggression, selfishness, conflict, strife and war  become the fall out point.

Total Lunar Eclipses are what all the hype is about being the shadow is near complete, making it a spectacular viewing opportunity.  According to NASA, all of these eclipses will be visible in North America which gives them a more local affect. The April 15th lunar eclipse hits its peak just after midnight over the west coast and up to 2AM for most of North America.

With the focus in Libra, it’s a time of balance, beauty and bonding.  Relationships, companionship and the pretty and sweet things in life take priority with Aries self interest, competition and rivalry taking a back seat. Libra is more on the defensive then offense so its ripe to keep up defensive maneuvering through any calamity and slowing the Aries hurried pace.  I especially am noticing it on the road where I have dodged a few close calls with taking it slower and using defensive driving.  Libra takes out the harshness and sharpness although Libra still likes a good debate as arguments and disagreements can take on a sparring tone albeit even tempered and often taking the back seat or going out the back door through passive aggressive moves.

Mars in Libra, still in retrograde motion is less inclined to direct action so it’s expected that energies can get entwined and hindered although Mars razor sharp corners are edging for a slashing through cutting through any shit, setting things straight.  Libra is Venus ruled, where it’s more about making love not war.  Libra seeks pleasure above pain.   Libra is all about fairness, with the current tide amidst the cross where the great equalizer is showing that life isn’t fair and bad things happen to good people just as good things happen to not so nice people.

The Sabian Symbol for the eclipse is: “An eagle and a large white dove turning one into the other”

Venus ruling the Lunar Eclipse, now in Pisces and in exaltation, runs the show.  Venus makes positive waves with Jupiter and Pluto blessing this eclipse with a peaceful and beneficial  support system with compassion and sensitive emotional rapport.  Venus Pisces enchants romantic revelry and fantasy as dreams abound with the right remedy for a sleeping beauty spell through the chaos with an urge to escape away from any harsh reality.  This Venus interlude is putting on the lovely charm disarming any aggression with a delicate touch seeing beauty through to calm still waters chasing away the monsters under the bed.

With the eclipse over Spica, a fortunate fixed star, and Venus exalted, the eclipse has a graceful and fortunate twist softening the tempo amongst the grating cardinal cross.  It suggests that much can be achieved and pushed forward with the cardinal cross with grace and diplomacy, smoothing out any of  the rough edges.  Fixed star, Sirius is conjoin Jupiter again also bringing a positive encouraging spin to the eclipse.  Unlike the planets that transit and progress forward or backward, fixed stars remain in the same place giving special attention to points in the chart.

Mercury in Aries is now an additional party hitting up the cardinal cross kicking it up with spring fever in full swing with a case of babble on to Babylon and climbing the walls of China.  Mercury rules over communications, commuting, travel, accidents and computers and explains the current “Heartbleed” virus, rightly named with Mercury in Aries.  Mercury in Aries amps up issues with fires, burns and sharp objects.  The invigorating Mercury in Aries are quick on their feet thinkers,  fast talking with sharp tongues with words that cut like a knife forcing  a decision or coming face to face with someone or something with an urge to get your yah yahs out.

Mercury Aries energy is fired up ready to take action, speed things up with thoughts racing.  Aries can often get caught up with jumping in impulsively, experimenting, risk taking and thinking and asking questions later.  Over Uranus Aries, anything goes with major surprises and shocks so watch the heavy peddle to the meddle, racing, speeding and reckless abandon which can prove hazardous on the road.  The challenging cross energy is a vehicle to bring awareness and force one to face whatever is in front of them.  At best, it’s a very productive opportunity for evolution and growth in consciousness  especially if triggering a positive point in a chart igniting powerful  shifts and at its worst, can bring a force with much more tragic results.

The cardinal cross hits up its exact point on April 22nd and impinges on the US chart particularly activating the US Sun in Cancer square Saturn Libra at the sensitive 13 degree point of the cross.  The Sun is indicative of leadership and Saturn in the 10th house of the US chart points to public leadership and administration which may reflect changes coming for the US leadership. Anyone with points and planets in the 10-15 cardinal degree range can count on some type of crisis whether personally or with anyone/anything in their sphere of influence.
