New Moon in Libra 2014

New Moon in Libra 2014 Pre-eclipse season New Moon on the Autumnal Equinox  “Come Together” The Beatles

The New Moon in Libra falls on the Autumnal Equinox, the first day of fall as we head into eclipse season.  A unique pattern is setting in that is quite unusual that will continue into the next eclipse season in April 2015 where all New Moons fall on a critical degree (the first degrees of a new sign).  This is indicative of significant new beginnings and touching on fresh new ground not yet ventured upon.   This eclipse season is also particularly noteworthy because of the continuous tedrad (blood moons) Lunar Eclipses.

Libra is the sign of balance, fairness and diplomacy where unpleasantness and discord is found distasteful.  Libra is ruled by Venus, where relationships, companionship and cooperation are often one of peacemaker and mediator.  Libra as an air sign is open and inclusive, living with grace and giving space and the necessary breathing room in relationships in order that each person maintains their own identity and has room to grow without stifling growth keeping relations fresh and lighthearted.

The Libra New Moon emphasizes the Libra nodal axis which triggers the theme of the eclipse season where Libra principles are further challenged with Libra’s polar side, Aries  with issues around conflict, selfishness, aggression, haste and war all becoming more evident with the current ISIS climate gaining more momentum.   The breezes of Libra’s crisp fall air helps to cool the fires and embers of Mars anger and strife and calm any brewing storm.  Any ritual to bring on a breeze and breathing exercises accompanied with thinking pleasant thoughts and beautification of your surroundings will enhance and tune into the Libra vibration.  Libra is also an ideal time for partnering and bonding with an ease to join forces whether romantic or business.

The New Moon makes a harmonious angle with Mars Sagittarius and a wide square building to Pluto as Pluto turns direct which will build to closer aspect in the next few weeks.  This gives the New Moon a powerful focus, strength and fortitude with energetic constructive new directions with more open influence to take positive action, make things happen, make new plans and get some balls rolling.  A semi square to Jupiter also kicks off the New Moon with some added zeal and eagerness.

Mars in Sagittarius is direct, forthright and at best honest and straight forward while in challenge overstepping, over reaching, biting off more than you can chew, moderation at a minimum with obnoxious on steroids slapstick in your face overkill loud and boisterous (think 3 stooges).  Mars just passes a difficult square to Neptune which showed up in some strange cases of fake (Neptune) police (Mars) robbing citizens.  Mars is cars, metal, machines and in affliction to Neptune, blind spots when driving, coupled with taking too many chances (Sagittarius).

A grand trine in fire is ramping up full speed as Jupiter Leo  forms a trine to Uranus Aries during the New Moon and builds to a grand trine with Mars Sagittarius just before the Lunar Eclipse.  The fire trine and grand trine will fare well for anyone with a Sun Sign or other sign in mid sign especially Aries (April 5-9), Leo (August 5-9), Sagittarius (December 5-9) as well as Gemini, Libra and Aquarius.

What to expect with a grand trine in fire?  Heat, vigor, spontaneous spur of the moment action (Aries), Leo entertainment, performing, drama, Sagittarius enthusiasm and adventure, Uranus Aries excitement, dancing, flying, or flying off the handle, active, expressive, travel (Sagittarius) , jovial, feel good positive exchange, luck,  success with legal battles (Jupiter).

Mercury retrograde begins October 4th as it’s  moving slower and in its shadow phase with dickering indecision, back and forth, find a happy median and trying to find a meeting in the middle has been apparent with many exchanges in the last while.  Mercury in Libra is extended into November as Mercury moves into Scorpio and out of his shadow November 9th.  Mercury Libra is moving over the nodal axis focusing through the eclipse on everything Libra with keeping the peace and harmony.   Signing contracts or agreements, especially partnership related is not a good idea during a Mercury retrograde cycle (including when Mercury is in its shadow) unless you have no other choice or option.

Mercury Libra doesn’t make many aspects at this point and is somewhat out of the loop where communications, short trips, neighbors, neighborhoods, siblings, accidents, contracts are hanging on like a bird on a wire.  Mercury does make a minor tense aspect with Chiron Pisces, feeling some pain with any communication mishap or misunderstanding.  Take this time for reviews, revisits, revisions and renegotiating as well as anything to address Libra principles of beauty,  balance, fairness with fine tuning, polish, refining, refreshing, redecorating and refurbishing.

Venus continues in Virgo in its fall which keeps relations subdued and quiet, dutifully going about routine, keeping busy, fussing over the details and picking up on all the mismatches and inaccuracies while keeping a low profile modest and demure.  Venus, will enter Libra in the beginning of October, with a focus on beauty and the pretty things, putting on the charm.

Rob Ford’s illness comes as no big surprise with his living hard lifestyle.  Rob has a Mars return in Sagittarius which is afflicted in his chart.  Rob very much epitomizes the Mars Sagittarius bull in a china shop, banging into walls often with harmless intent yet often shooting oneself in the foot, stumbling over oneself.  His Mars is afflicted oppose his Sun in Gemini, Sun Mars aspects in affliction tending to be one’s own worst enemy.  His Sun oppose Mars is under strain from transit Neptune showing where health, well being and vitality are thwarted and weakened.

Scotland’s independent referendum comes at a time where the “Better Together” campaign instilled  with Libra principles of cooperation, maintaining unions and partnership won over separation, change (Uranus) and independence (Aries).
