Solar Eclipse in Taurus 2014

Solar Eclipse in TaurusSolar Eclipse in Taurus 2014

The Solar Eclipse in Taurus is a partial annular Eclipse. With the nodal axis over Libra and the eclipse over Taurus, ruled by Venus, the focus continues on a Venusian path. With Venus ruling the Taurus eclipse, in Pisces where its exalted, Venus placid composure soothes and sustains.  The Solar Eclipse is over the south node which gives it a clearing out path pulling to the past where something still lingers and needs further attention, work or resolution. It has a draining tone to it giving it great opportunity to shed and rid yourself of anything stale, to sort out your closets, basements and get rid of the old accumulated dead energy.

Solar Eclipses are fortified New Moons where the seeding is preparing for something new although due to a south node influence, much past energies buried deep without some expulsion, can erupt, escalate and spill out. Taurus can tend to hold onto and fear change which can make this time challenging for letting go and focusing on the future.  I always find the sweeping ritual very effective to clear out anything that needs to go whether emotional, psychological or physical.

Wisk away the fray

and any decay

from the long stay

to bring a new clear day

Let go with a sweep

what makes you weep

what lies deep

from a long sleep

Venus in Pisces, also exalted has both the benefics, Venus and Jupiter in exaltation which continues to inhibit stress and tension.  Venus ruled Taurus is Venus on the sensual side, earth bound and in physical touch with senses acute and alive, awakening a fresh new start.  Venus principles of beauty, tranquility and serenity keep up a harmonious sensibility.  Taurus values practicality, security, stability and financial predictability which can become unhinged during eclipse periods.

The Taurus solar eclipse forms a growing grand trine and kite pattern which is promising for taking the edge off the tail end of the cross and letting it take flight.  No matter the placement of any cycle, the energy patterns and aspects define the essence and thrust of the eclipse. Whatever efforts and energies you expended in the cross period will show its poetic justice and ripening.  The positive influence of the eclipse holds promise for pleasant conditions whether in the weather and state of the world the next while.

Mercury Taurus joins the Solar Eclipse in Taurus and part of the kite is a regenerating and empowering trine to Pluto and a sextile to Jupiter adding open growth oriented revitalization.  Jupiter in Cancer in exaltation is generous, expansive and protective encouraging and gifting the Taurus eclipse with a special touch to make your garden grow. The Taurus eclipse makes a wide opposition to Saturn Scorpio, the major portal of the kite pattern.  Saturn hard work manifests Jupiter rewards.  Saturn focus, intention, head down constriction enables Jupiter expansion.   Jupiter’s reward of expansion, abundance and luck usually come if the work of Saturn has been done.

Hard energy and angles are testing points and can demonstrate how someone reacts whether bringing out their worst or their best.   The cardinal cross energy (mostly 90 degree angle square energy) is indicative of Saturn and when operating at its finest can show us how we use sheer will and strength to endure through any hardship.  The testing proves very critical as if one overcomes the tests, the rewards are great.

The cardinal cross is an open door to drop a heavy load and just break free of anything holding you back.  It needs to level out anything stagnate and grow so any disruption or firing up is trying to get you to move.  Energies used accordingly and acted upon are much more productive than anything forced on you.  Energy has to be expended so it’s a great time to get down and dirty with any big jobs or tasks putting this energy to good use.  It also becomes a window of opportunity for a major detox and purging (Pluto) to remove anything no longer needed for your evolution.

The cross will be separating into June as Mars Libra stations most of the month of May and goes direct May 20th.  The stationary period is significant due to the planet sitting at a degree point for an extended period which is much more noticeable with a personal planet such as Mars.  Every lunar cycle in cardinal energy (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn), will pick up on the separating cross energy pattern.  The window of effects isn’t usually when an aspect is exact but when the aspect is applying or separating.

The cardinal cross separating shows the outcome and repercussions with all the sudden tragedies, shifts and major changes in the last month.  The cardinal cross doesn’t need to activate a global crisis or major tragedy to show its power.  We all feel the collective tug whether in feeling others grave sorrow or experiencing intense trauma or major change up close and personal.  The energy is vivid and potent which is expressed in nature, scenery, emotion. No matter how you experience your time during this cross, in one way or another, you can’t escape the intensity even whether through a moving, passionate piece of music triggering an emotional release.  Everything is amplified and in your face reminding you that you are alive and kicking.

Jodie Foster and George Clooney both announced wedding nuptials.  With Venus (ruler over relationships) prominent in the eclipse season, tying the knot fits the bill.  Both George and Jodie have a strong Uranus energy pattern in their chart which is indicative of detachment with unusual, unique and unconventional lifestyles.   George Clooney had sworn off marriage and with the cross energy infused with Uranus, it is not surprising to have unexpected news not par for the course and out of the ordinary.  The owner of the LA Clippers, Donald Stirling, demonstrated the going south of a south node eclipse with his Sun Mercury in Taurus on the south node tail end eclipsed due to his racist remarks that came and bit him in the butt.  Uranus figured strong in his chart over the transiting south node putting him in his place.
