Lunar Eclipse in Libra 2016

Lunar Eclipse in Libra 2016 “Breathe (2AM)” Anna Nalick

The Lunar Eclipse in Libra 2016 falls into the first steps of spring, helping to bring things back to balance, meeting in the middle, pressing on to get priorities straight after all the mish mosh of mutable energy in the last while with the Solar Eclipse in Pisces and all its flash backs, déjà vu, and many fingers in the pie swimming in muddy waters, feeling stuck like glue in a sinking sand soup of confusion and uncertainty.  With everything up in the air, wavering with a challenge to know the best course of action or choice, Libra is a time to start weighing options among the many choices and ideas, reflecting on what matters most.

Although decisiveness is a quandary with Libra, still sitting on the fence, Libra as an air sign is adding some needed mindfulness to our thinking cap, to offset the lack of air lately with everything going bonkers with the mutable wind up of a mess of watery emotional overkill and fiery reactive response. Any balancing exercise whether in yoga or in mediation, deep breathing exercises to clear out any tensions, as well as rituals for supporting fairness and equality in relationships is effective now.

Venus, ruler of the Lunar Eclipse in Libra, is in Pisces carrying the vibe of the recent Solar Eclipse in Pisces. Venus resides over the pleasure principle and in Pisces is open to anything softening the spirit, without the sharp edges, spending time on what’s your pleasure.  Although Venus is exalted in Pisces, bringing out the redeeming qualities of Venus such as unconditional love and love pure of heart, Venus is also activating the current Jupiter, Saturn Sagittarius and Chiron Pisces tsquare while sitting over the south node which is drawing out a more dismal side of Venus Pisces mixed up in this tsquare mess. (escape, enabling, deception, victimization, hypersensitivity, harsh lessons, loneliness, isolation lack of discrimination, weak boundaries, poor judgement or being a martyr).

All Full Moons and Lunar eclipses perpetuate the balancing act between poles.  The polarity pulls out any projection where if one side is dominating, the other side will find an outlet, often at a default. The Moon Libra and Sun Aries pull between Libra social reciprocity and cooperation and Aries selfishness and competition where tit for tat is just that, when real exchange is missing and lost in the Libra superficial social niceties without genuine interest or consideration. Where Libra wants to be yielding and compromising (pleasing), the dark side falls into codependent and passive aggressive traps, as often through social convention, passive aggression seeps out while trying to find a socially accepted way to express any anger, hence back stabbing, misdirecting anger, the blame game and using someone as a punching bag or scapegoat.

The Lunar Eclipse in Libra is pointing out a message of superficial appearances, first impressions and being deceived by surface appearance.  Libra keeps tabs on relationships and social demeanor, following social decorum rules.  Society puts emphasis and value on being nice, polite, keeping the peace, as well as rewards beauty, wealth and good genes to the point of compromising principles and tolerating poor character. Superficial connections, relations and appearances that strive for some unblemished perfect specimen stepford wife with the perfect white teeth, fake tan, hair, make sure your toes or nose are straight and perfect or go get a tuck,  but underlying in the underbelly, substance is lacking and once you open the pretty package it’s a superficial blank.

Appearances apply to evaluating an astrological chart. At first glance or first impression,  a chart that is pleasing looking and full of positive flavor is assumed to be a great or honorable person or character. Trump is a great example of someone who has a chart that gets him somewhere no matter how questionable his character and is lost on those who follow superficial social rules.  It points to the flaw of following or admiring anyone superficially  due to power, fame, success, popularity, beauty  or wealth, rather than character, many who hardly need to make any effort to get ahead or who actually brag that no matter how crappy they are to others, others still follow them or like them.

The social rules have changed and morphed due to new social rules with social media that perpetuate virtual connections and relationships. A new form of full fledged relationships,  entirely virtual without ever meeting in person, never reach the real mcCoy of in person live connections, with a real divide as how one appears virtually to who they really are in person. The genuine real dynamics of in person connections with all the physical, emotional, sensory stimulation is missing and lost on creating unrealistic expectations and a warped sense of belonging.  The brain chemistry and response to virtual visuals and connections is twisted to not see real value in human connection with more and more heads to devices than to people’s eyes.  Engagement seems more unemotional, superficial and diminished lacking in the true social graces and social cues( listening, engaging, eye contact).

Mercury moves into Aries to join the Sun oppose the Moon in Libra adding to the opposing values. The fiery Sun Mercury in Aries makes a positive aspect to Mars in Sagittarius which helps to energize and take action although drawn out as Saturn is stationed ready to go retrograde with Mars close behind moving very slow adding to an underlying grit and slow burn that will ride out stalls, stops and halts the next few months.
