New Moon in Aries 2014

New Moon in Aries 2014  “Living on the Edge” Aerosmith

The New Moon in Aries 2014 is no ordinary run of the mill New Moon and change is afoot.  The New Moon in Aries is special enough every year as it is the start of the zodiac year and the rebirth of spring.  This year, the New Moon in Aries gets the additional boost with the entanglement into the cardinal cross square dance cross to bear springboard to the Lunar Eclipse in Libra April 15th.

The New Moon in Aries symbolizes everything about newness and beginnings with the cross reference to crisis, change and breaking new ground with a push comes to shove extra jolt at its darkest before the dawn, spurring an awakening and rising up with an urge to live dangerously, courageously and defiantly.

The Sun is exalted in Aries, at home as a fire sign  in its natural element which fortifies the life force with a warrior strength that moves forward with gusto and drive at an accelerated wildly fast pace as things speed up to a sense of urgency and decisive action.  Aries signals the time to light a fire, wear red and speak or chant with a purposeful aim.

The New Moon adds up to 4 in numerology which accentuates the cardinal ritual as a magical time to direct new action.  The 4 corners of the cross are points of initiation. The number 4 is a number for planning, productivity, purpose and perseverance.  Center yourself in a circle with 4 candles at each corner and welcome in the strength and structure of the support of the solid base of energy.

Aries are known as the initiators who start things up with bold enthusiasm.  Aries are naturally more proactive then reactive and make things happen before anything happens upon them.  Independent and self reliant, Aries would “rather be a hammer than a nail”.  Aries stays in front of the mark to keep one step ahead of the rest.   Even though Mars, ruler of Aries is in retrograde in Libra, the opposite sign of Aries, we have a force to contend with the next month with a might to make things right.

Aries is in the forefront to lead through a singular direction as the currents and tides keep shifting, wheels keep turning and time keeps pressing on.  Charles Darwin once said: “It is not the strongest or the most intelligent who will survive but those who can best manage change.” The crow is known as the messenger of change and I have had several experiences of meetings with crows during times of major change and crisis.  Crows are survivors because of their ability to adapt and symbolize transcendence.

The New Moon joins Uranus in Aries punctuating freedom from anything stifling.  Aries rising on the horizon of Pisces shackles of doubt is infused with Uranus liberation that shakes us out of any stagnation or setback propelling forward toward the future.  Aries head first, head strong initiative gets charged with impulsive urges and Uranus new sudden surprises and undertakings that let loose the tears and fears and open Uranus doors to wing it or take a stab or risk a crash and burn, letting go of what you can’t control.

Aries are born leaders with the courage and gumption to get on with it taking action and stepping out with no guarantees flying from the seat of your panties.  Uranus chaos dares to take bold moves and enjoy the wild ride.   The one thing in life that is a guarantee is change.  Nothing remains static or the same.  Each day presents a new view or vision, to expect the unexpected and be open to all the twists and turns.

Aries is a very competitive and ambitious sign that wants to lead, direct and trail blaze the next great adventure.  With Uranus at the helm, the added openness to something innovative and inventive reigns supreme with cutting edge new ideas.  Times and trends and technologies are advancing at a rapid pace.  Uranus rules over the next best thing around the bend and all the untapped talent as the unsung nameless Einstein’s and heroes rise to the occasion ready to emerge.  Uranus is open to the original, unconventional and out of the ordinary.

The New Moon is triggering the voodoo you do with the Sun Moon Uranus square Pluto Capricorn and Jupiter Cancer oppose Mars Libra giving a snap, crackle pop to the pattern.  The powerful angle with Pluto pipes up a churning of those deep dark places and ignited with Mars, passion and sparks fly.  OCD and anxiety and crazy making bizarre weird (Uranus) and dark side (Pluto) will be getting riled up as all the digging up and dusting out the corners exposes those long forgotten places.  Jupiter focuses on foreign relations, unique new cultural experience, deep sentimental journeys and emotions.  Jupiter growth is pushing more boundaries unleashing the buckles and restraints letting loose with a yearning for a release of wanting more.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.  Under the cardinal cross, shift happens as much extremity and obsession can occur in any of these areas at the cross roads.   All the energies are like 4 fighters in a wrestling match in their corners vying for dominance seen with continuous news of tremors, earthquakes, explosions, fires, gun violence and strange weather patterns.  Road rage, anger, impatience, impulsiveness, poor judgement, headaches, cuts and burns are all potentials so best be on the defensive and keep a watchful eye the next few weeks.

The converging cardinal cross hits its peak April 22 just before Easter.  The Sabian Symbol over the current transit of Neptune is “A cross lying on rocks” a striking symbolic theme of the current crisis.  The way of the cross becomes the great equalizer in finding your way to the other side of suffering when life isn’t fair.  The cardinal rule in the grand scheme is run full circle and to a season its purpose with an understanding that any experience whether difficult or pleasant, has inherent meaning and messaging that offer lessons and learning taking you through your milestones.

This New Moon activates the co-pilot’s chart of the missing Malaysian flight.  His Sun in Aries on the nodal axis is over the New Moon.  Both pilots have the Sun square Neptune aspect which indicates some type of challenge around the sea (Neptune), deception, blindness, disappearance, being lost.  Uranus rules electricity and Aries fire so it seems plausible pointing to an electrical fire.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin announced their separation which is no surprise when you look at both of their charts.  Gwyneth has a Libra stellium with her Mercury Libra (her relationship ruler) under the cardinal cross transit.  Her chart ruler, Neptune, is currently over her ASC which shows the shift in her identity.  Chris’s Pluto and nodal axis in Libra are both hit by the cardinal cross and the next Lunar Eclipse in Libra April 15th.  Part of the Gwyneth’s Libra stellium includes Uranus in Libra which seems to bring relevant light to the pair’s conscious uncoupling, taking up the Uranus separation and independent action in a graceful and unfettered manner which takes out the dramatic emotional explosions.  The New Moon over Uranus is the gift of emotional detachment that can help one distance and remove themselves without trauma or severe measures.

  1. just wonderful your site is was wondering what the new moon means for us capricorns at this time I was offered a new job cross country and need to know if it’s something i should consider

    • Thanks for visiting. It is a time for change certainly for those cardinal signs (Capricorn, Aries, Libra and Cancer) or at the least exciting new opportunities for most. In general as far as Solar Charts go, Capricorns career sector is in indecisive mode as Mars retrograde moves over your career sector. You may find changes continue to be unsettled until mid July once Mars moves forward. If you want a more detailed personalized look at your own chart, email me.
